Edinburgh extreme awaits Zapcat teams heading north…..
Twenty Zapcat teams are to head north of the border to Scotland’s capital Edinburgh for the Ocean Terminal Edinburgh Zapcat GP to be held on the 3rd & 4th July in Leith Docks.
Rounds 5 & 6 of the National Championships will also make up rounds 3 & 4 of the City Championships and rounds 1 & 2 of the Celtic Cup (defending will be Ashley Chappell & Chris Rex of Marin / Delta Jets one of the Scottish sponsored teams).
Michelle MacLeod, Ocean Terminal’s Deputy Store Manager added: “Ocean Terminal’s scenic location makes it an ideal venue for Zapcats Racing. We will be adding to the excitement over the weekend by bringing M&D’s attractions back for families to get their own adrenalin rush after watching the racing.
Ex-Zapcat racer Martin Jupp, Managing Director of Zapcat Racing said: “The stunning waterfront location of Leith Docks with the Royal Yacht Britannia and Ocean Terminal proved to be one of the best spectator events for us last year so we are excited to be back. Zapcat Racing is a thrilling sport to watch and the fantastic views spectators get here only adds to the experience.”
All the teams in Division One will be out to prove they are capable of winning a GP title rather than letting Bluesheets Racing I – have all the glory whilst Craig Davis & Rob Martin will be set to defend their Edinburgh title.
Five Rookie and five Mixed (male and female) teams will be competing for points in both divisions proving that Zapcat Racing really is a sport for all. The youngest competitor is just 16 and the eldest a little over three times that!
Three teams in Divison One will be representing Scotland and hoping to pick up valuable points for the Home Nations title too – so what better way to spend a day especially if the sun is out and hopefully a little bit of wind to make things even more interesting than to come and watch some very exciting powerboat racing for free? Then try your own Extreme Ride with M&D’s attractions!
