F1 to The Rescue…

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – Sunday, August 15, 2010 – A team of New Jet skiers set off from London’s Excel Marine on the River Thames on 1st August in what is described as the Ultimate Ride. The team led by Jeremy Burfoot and includes fellow Kiwi Travis Donoghue and Jeff Martin along with Croatian Ivan Otulic are attempting to set a world record from riding from London to Auckland, New Zealand, a distance of 32,000 km.

The Ultimate Ride is a charity event raising money for Cancer Research. The route takes them across many seas and inland waterways of Europe around the Arabian peninsula via the old Arab Spice Sea Trade down the western coast of India via Singapore then all the way across to Auckland.

However one of the Aquabikes developed jet pump troubles and the trio was directed to F1’s Alex Radanovic’s marina on the River Danube in Belgrade, Serbia. Alex has fixed the problem and given all three craft a good service before they set off on the next stage of their voyage.
