POWERBOAT P1 OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Mauro Ravenna at his last event in Guadeloupe

Powerboat P1 Management would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the family of UIM Class Pro Aquabike promoter, Mauro Ravenna, following news of his passing on Thursday 27 May.

Only earlier this year Ravenna was presented with the Stefano Casiraghi Memorial Trophy for his services to powerboating at a special ceremony held by the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) in Monaco.

Powerboat P1 Management Chairman, Asif Rangoonwala, said: “The marine industry has not only lost one of its greatest pioneers but also one of its most colourful characters.

“His energy for powerboat racing was unrivalled and a passion to promote competitive marine motorsports in new markets was something we shared.

“Mauro was a great friend and a man of his word. He was loved by all of his pilots and a fantastic ambassador for the UIM. We have lost a wonderful man.”
