Zapcat Racing’s Prestatyn tour stop once again showcased the appeal of this adrenaline-filled powerboating spectacle as crowds flocked to both Barkby and Central beach over the weekend to witness the action of the Pontin’s Prestatyn Sands Zapcat Grand Prix.

There was entertainment throughout as competitors got to grips with the challenging course laid out by race stewards. There was even the unusual and comical sight of Zapcats becoming stuck on buoys for those in attendance to enjoy!

Bluesheets Racing I renewed their rivalry with BladeRun in Division One and this time came out on top, taking the chequered flag in the finals of both rounds to cement their position as the team to beat once again.

“It’s been another great event for Zapcat Racing,” explains Martin Jupp, “Three from the four Grand Prix’s so far this season have been staged at new venues, and they’ve both really come up trumps for us.”

“Special thanks must go to our joint sponsors Denbighshire County Council and Pontin’s, who have helped make the event the success we knew it would be.

“Bring on the second leg of the ‘Welsh Tour’!”

That leg will take the Zapcat Racing National Championship to Barry Island and Whitmore Bay Beach on the weekend of 7th and 8th August. With a host of new Zapcat fans now established in Wales, the event promises to be another special occasion.
