Zapcat teams preparing for Celtic Cup in Scotland’s Capital City
In just over 2 weeks Zapcat Racing will be returning to Leith Docks for the Ocean Terminal Zapcat Grand Prix. This was a new venue last year and one that teams, officials and supporters alike are keen to return to.
Unlike other dock races this is a commercial port with a large expanse of water open to the winds from across the Firth of Forth making conditions unpredictable and very exciting for all the teams and spectators!
Ashley & Chris representing Scotland in their Marin / Delta Jets Zapcat and holders of the innaugural Celtic Cup will be keen to push Bluesheets I and make up some points whilst maintaining their second place in the Championships.
Just 130 points covers 2nd to 13th place, with 100 points for a round win in division one and 70 in division two there is all to play for. The many vantage points on the quayside and in Ocean Terminal allow spectators to get very close to the action and some of the best views of the racing throughout the season.
Racing just under the bows of the Britannia provides a fantastic setting especially with the start of the each race heading almost the length of the dock towards the quayside before the first left hand turn and true to form proving very dramatic and a fantastic photo opportunity for all.
Rookies SeaVacation II and It’s all Greek to us! will be keen to continue moving up the leaderboard and fight it out for their title as well as pick up more points in rounds 3 & 4 of the City Championships too.
Entries for the Ocean Terminal Zapcat Grand Prix close Friday 18th June 2010
Round 5 & 6 – Saturday and Sunday 3rd & 4th July from 11:00 – Free to View other attractions available
